Privacy Policy
Repattern is built to be private by default. This page explains what we collect, what we don't, and the choices you have.

The short version
- Your journal entries, breathing sessions, and dream notes are stored locally in your own browser. They are not uploaded to our servers.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
- We do not run advertising trackers or third-party ad pixels.
- Clearing your browser data will permanently delete your entries. We cannot recover them.
Who we are
Repattern is an independent project built and operated in Florida, USA, and founded by Abhi Gurung. For the limited technical data described below, Repattern is the data controller. You can reach us about any privacy matter at info@repattern.co or through the contact page. Because journal entries never leave your device, we are not able to access, export, or delete them for you — you already hold the only copy.
Information stored on your device
The Repattern tools — the journal, breathing timer, and dream interpreter — keep everything you write in your browser’s local storage. This includes entry text, mood tags, and timestamps.
Because this data never leaves your device, we cannot read it, back it up, or restore it. If you use Repattern on a different browser or device, your entries will not follow you.
Information we may collect
When you visit repattern.co, our hosting provider automatically processes limited technical information needed to serve the site:
- IP address, browser type, and device type
- Pages requested and the time of the request
- Referring website, where your browser sends one
This is standard server log data used for security, reliability, and aggregate traffic counts. It is not used to build an advertising profile of you.
If you contact us by email, we receive whatever you choose to include in that message, and we keep it only as long as needed to respond.
Service providers
The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes the technical request data described above on our behalf. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising services that track you across other websites.
Your choices
- Delete your data: clear your browser’s site data for repattern.co, or delete entries individually in the journal.
- Access and portability: because your entries live on your device, you already hold the only copy.
- Questions or requests: reach us via the contact page.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over personal data — such as the right to access, correct, or delete it, or to object to its processing. Contact us and we will respond as required by applicable law.
Data we do not collect
Being explicit about the absences matters as much as the disclosures. Repattern does not:
- Require or collect an account, name, or password
- Run advertising, ad networks, or advertising cookies
- Use third-party analytics or social media tracking pixels
- Sell, rent, or share personal information with data brokers
- Read, store, or transmit your journal, breathing, or dream entries
There is no advertising profile of you here, because we build none.
Your privacy rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on where you live, data-protection laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) give you rights over your personal information, including the right to access it, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and — under CCPA — to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing.”
Two honest points shape how these apply to Repattern. First, your journal, breathing, and dream entries never reach us, so there is nothing on our side to access, export, or erase — the control already sits entirely with you, in your own browser. Second, we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
For the limited server-log data our host processes, you may still contact us to exercise your rights, and we will respond as applicable law requires. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.
How long we keep data
Journal and tool data lives in your browser until you clear it — we set no expiry and hold no copy. Standard server-log data processed by our host is retained only for as long as needed for security and reliability, in line with typical hosting practice, and is not used to build any profile of you. If you email us, we keep that message only as long as needed to respond.
How we protect information
The site is served over encrypted HTTPS. The most meaningful protection, though, is structural: because your entries are stored locally and never transmitted, there is no central database of personal writing to breach, leak, or subpoena. Privacy by design does more than a policy alone can. No method of storage is ever completely secure, so we are careful not to overstate this — but keeping the data on your device removes the largest category of risk entirely.
International visitors and Do Not Track
Repattern is operated from the United States, and visiting the site may involve processing your request data in the US. Your browser’s “Do Not Track” signal has nothing to switch off here, because we run no tracking to begin with — but it is honoured by default in the only way that matters: we do not track you across the web under any setting.
Children's privacy
Repattern is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Not medical care
Repattern is a self-reflection tool, not a healthcare service, and it does not create a clinician–patient relationship. It is not a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services — in the US, call or text 988.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above.
